Kathmandu, August 23: The ill-fated bus plunged into the Marsyangdi Rivet near Aanbukhaireni in Tanahun District today carrying the Indian tourists from Gorakhpur. The bus entered Nepal via the Belahia border pass and was bound for Kathmandu after visiting Bhairahawa and Pokhara. The tourist bus with the number plate UP 53 FT 7623, had obtained a route permit for eight days from the Belahia pass on August 20, according to Manohar Bhatt, spokesperson, District Police Office, Rupandehi. After the visit to Bhairahawa and Pokhara, the bus was bound for Kathmandu. A total of 14 passengers have died, and ten are expected to be missing. 16 injured passengers are undergoing treatment in different hospitals. People’s News Monitoring Service.
