By Our Reporter The present government of the two big parties—the Nepali Congress and the UML—has completed its first month in office without making any noticeable delivery. Although Prime Minister KP Sharma looked busy leading and attending one meeting after another and delivering speeches, many of the ministers in his 25-member Cabinet looked fully inactive. Only Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel, Communication and Information Technology Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung,  Health Minister Pradip Paudel and Foreign Minister Arzu Rana have made news headlines in a month that is too only because of their speeches or foreign trip. Although Health Minister Paudel floated some of the schemes and announced their implementation, the public has taken them as only stunts. Moreover, the effort made by Prime Minister Oli to sack Kulman Ghising, Managing Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority, has only drawn criticism from the government. However, Oli failed to sack Ghising because of NC ministers. What the government did in the last month was appointments of ambassadors and chairmen transfer secretaries and joint secretaries. Even the appointment of two ambassadors, including Shankar Sharma contradicted the law. Except for endorsing the TRC Bill, the government did no important work during the period. Looking at the way the government has worked over the month, one can conclude that the government formed with a slogan of stability and good governance has failed to instill hope among the people.
