Kathmandu, August 19: According to The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), India will purchase an additional 251 MW of electricity from different 12 hydropower projects. India has agreed to import electricity from 12 hydropower projects sent by NEA. For the first time, Nepal will export electricity to Bihar through a medium-term power sale agreement, according to the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu. "The Central Electricity Authority of India has approved an additional 251 MW of electricity from 12 hydropower projects in Nepal for inland trade," the embassy said in a statement on Monday. A total of 941 MW of electricity will go to India from 28 projects in the country. "The total sanctioned volume goes from 690 MW (16 projects) to 941 MW (from 28 projects)," it said.
