Kathmandu, August 3: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has held high-level discussions on operating the Pokhara International Airport and the Gautam Buddha International Airport in Bhairahawa at full capacity. In a discussion held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers at Singhadurbar on Friday, the PM discussed the options and measures to operate both the international airports at full capacity keeping in mind the current flight pressure and passenger management of the Tribhuvan International Airport. During the meeting, PM Oli directed for developing an environment for regular international flights from the two airports. He expressed the belief that the government would move ahead with the flight-related issues of international airlines, which have shown interest in international flights at these two airports if the regulatory body resolves the matter soon. Prime Minister Oli urged the government to take it seriously as the two international airports have suffered losses for not operating at full capacity for a long time after the construction of the airport and there is a compulsion to manage flights and passengers beyond the capacity of Kathmandu Airport.
