Kathmandu, July 27: Maoist Centre chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal has threatened to launch a street agitation if the UML and the Nepali Congress tried to curtail the rights of citizens through the constitutional amendment.Chairman Dahal said this while speaking at a program organized on the occasion of the birth centenary of Pushpalal Shrestha, the founder of the Communist Party of Nepal. He said it was a matter of doubt that the two parties would amend the constitution. They suspect that a conspiracy is being hatched from somewhere to prevent the communist parties from joining hands. Chairman Dahal said that he had failed in his efforts for communist unity.Dahal said, "Even after the failure of the first attempt, I had taken forward the efforts of communist unity, but it was not successful.” There is still a line of big patriots within the UML, Dahal said, "There are people who have made great sacrifices and contributed to the communist movement. I worry that we all have to think about them," he said.People’s News Monitoring Service.
