Kathmandu, 18 December: The sugarcane farmers are compelled to sell their sugarcane to the sugar factories at a low price as the government has not set the minimum price of the sugarcane for this year. Now, the farmers are compelled to sell their sugarcane to the factories at the price set by factories. The government has not yet set the minimum price of sugarcane. Earlier, due to the government's negligence, the paddy farmers had to sell paddy to the middlemen at low prices. Still, the government is avoiding buying paddy directly from the farmers saying that the Finance Minister has not released the fund. Accordingly, the farmers are unable to get fertilizer although the government claim enough stock of fertilizer. Nepal is an agricultural country but farmers are being exploited by the government's decisions and policies.
