Kathmandu, 8 December: Several teams from the south were on 24-hour duty in Saptari 2 electoral constituency to defeat Upendra Yadav and to make victorious CK Raut, reports the Janaastha news portal. Upendra Yadav, chair, Janata Samajwadi Party, had never thought about such a humiliating defeat in the 20 November election. One group of his supporters had assured him of the support and asked him not to change the electoral constituency. But from the next day of filing the candidature, they disappeared. Yadav’s party wellwishers had suggested him to contest the election from Bara 2, otherwise from Sunsari 4. But in Rajbiraj, his party workers put pressure on him not to leave Saptari 2 by ensuring his victory. But they all disappeared from the next day of filing the candidature. According to JSP leaders, there were three RAW teams to defeat Upendra. There were other teams to create propaganda on behalf of Raut and influence votes which were going to Yadav.Indian intelligence RAW was closely monitoring the election activities for a long time by staying in Kathmandu and later visiting Birgunj, Saptari and other electoral constituencies. A 20-member team went to Chitwan to strengthen Binod Chaudhari and Umesh Shrestha’s positions in Nawalparasi and Chitwan. Yadav’s well-wishers had already informed him that RAW won’t allow him to move ahead. They had analysed that during the local elections, the Janamat Party had received nine thousand votes and when NC, Maoist and LSP’s vote will divert, it would be a challenge for Yadav to get victorious. In this election, Upendra Yadav became the victim like the late Sushil Koirala became powerless after the election in 2072 BS. Koirala should have become the President and Oli should have become the PM after the promulgation of the constitution. When the RAW people provoked Koirala to become the prime minister, he had to lose both the posts (president and prime minister). During developing an alliance with UML, K.P. Oli had suggested Yadav for contesting the election from Sunsari 4 saying that there were no UML votes in Saptari 2. But Yadav trusted those party workers who insisted him to contest the poll from Saptari 2, according to the Janaastha news. People’s News Monitoring Service
