Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP)’s Dr. Tosima Karki won the election for the member of parliament from Lalitpur electoral constituency No 3.  33-year-old Karki won by defeating Amrit Bhattarai of CPN-UML and Pampha Bhusal of CPN-Maoist Center with a wide margin of votes.  Toshima got 31 thousand 136 votes, and her closest competitor Amrit Khadka of CPN-UML got 12 thousand 963 votes. Similarly, Pampha Bhusal of the Maoist Center, who is also the energy minister and a candidate from the ruling coalition, got only 8,769 votes.
