US $ becomes expensive, establishes a new record
Kathmandu, 25 September: The Nepal Rastra Bank has set the new price of US $ for Sunday. The price for one unit of US $ for today is Rs 129.89, which is the highest price in the monetary history of the country.
On Friday, the price was 128.67 rupees for one unit of US $.
The US $ price has inclined due to the increase in the interest rate by the Federal Bank of the USA and also increasing tension between China and the US on the Taiwan issue, say business analysts.
The main reason for the incline of the US $ in Nepal is the Indian currency becoming weak with the US $. As the Nepali currency has tied up with the Indian currency, along with the incline in the dollar price in India, it will directly affect the Nepali currency.
