Kathmandu, 30 August:  In a petition filed against Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Balendra Sah  on contempt of the court, the Supreme Court (SC) on Monday sought written response within seven days from Mayor Sah. Issuing a directive on the contempt of the court, Justice Hari Krishna Karki has asked to furnish written response by Mayor Shh himself or on his behalf by his representatives as per the law within seven days except for the time incurred by travel stating the reasons and basis why Mayor Sah should not be punished as per the demand of the petitioner. The case on contempt of the court was filed over the statements made by Mayor Sah on a writ petition lodged against the move of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City to demolish the constructions of the Norvic Hospital allegedly built by encroaching upon the public land. Advocate Dipak Raj Joshi filed the petition at the SC against Mayor Sah on the contempt of the court. People's News Monitoring Service
