
Kathmandu, 21 August: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has proposed to sell additional 111 Mega Watt electricity through competition in the day-ahead market of Indian Energy Exchange Limited (IX). The NEA has submitted a proposal to the Central Electricity Authority under the Ministry of Electricity of the Government of India for selling the electricity produced from four hydroelectric plants through competition in IX as a source. If permission is obtained from the Central Electricity Authority, more electricity will be exported.
The NEA stated that the proposal for export of electricity produced from 42 MW Mistrikhola, 24.2 MW from Likhukhola 'A', 23.5 MW generated from Solukhola, and 22.1 MW produced from Chilime has been submitted to the Central Electricity Authority of India for approval.
