Kathmandu, 12 August: Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Hou Yanqi has paid courtesy call on  Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota at his official residence this morning. The duo exchanged views on cordial relations subtisting between the two countries including mutual interest cooperation. Speaker Sapkota praised China's achievements in poverty alleviation in the recent decades, the initiatives taken to control the Covid-19, China's balanced  neighborhood policy and international diplomacy, according to the Office of the Speaker. Speaker Sapkota clarified that Nepal is always committed to the one-China policy and said that Nepal is always alert and aware of not allowing Nepali land to be used against neighboring countries. He expressed the opinion that everyone should respect the sovereignty of any country and the policy of non-interference in internal affairs in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations and the five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence. Ambassador Hou said that Nepal is a good neighbor of China and commended Nepal's commitment to the One China policy. In addition, she said that China has always strongly supported Nepal's independence, sovereignty and national integrity.
