Kathmandu, 29 July: The then Finance Minister Janardhan Sharma, who was accused of manipulating the tax rates by allowing unauthorized persons to enter the Finance Ministry at midnight on May 29, has been acquitted by the Parliamentary Special Committee. Due to the stubbornness shown by the ruling party under the guise of majority and the surrendering of the finance officials, the parliamentary inquiry committee was limited to the ritual of cleansing Sharma. The investigation has ended without summoning the person who is said to have entered the Ministry of Finance  and tweaking the national Budget. The committee itself cleared the case by stating that the photographs obtained while 'recovering' the CCTV footage of the ministry were not helpful in the investigation.
