
Kathmandu, 19 July: The government is forming an expert team to take forward the construction works of the international airport in Nijgadh. A meeting of the board of directors of the Nepal Civil Aviation Authority (CAAN)chaired by the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Jeevan Ram Shrestha on Monday decided to recommend the formation of an expert team for the construction of international airport in Nijgadh.
On Monday, at the meeting of the International Relations Committee of the House of Representatives, Minister Shrestha informed that according to the recommendation of the board of directors of the CAAN, the ministry was preparing to take the proposal regarding the formation of an expert team to the Cabinet.
He mentioned that there is a need to build Nijgarh airport, which is viewed as a game changer project of the country, and said that an expert group will be formed and it will study again according to the order of the Supreme Court.
