Kathmandu, 27 June: The pilot was forced to overshoot (to fly the plane too far again) when he saw people walking on the runway while the Jazeera Airlines plane from Kuwait was about to land at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).
According to airport sources, the pilot immediately flew after seeing people walking at the runway during the landing of Jazeera Airlines J9541 plane carrying 107 passengers from Kuwait to Nepal at around 3.20 am on Sunday. The prompt decision of the pilot aborted a major accident. It is a sheer negligence on the part of the management as it is prohibited to walk on the runway.
The overshoot plane flew in the sky of Kathmandu for about 20 minutes and landed. Airport authorities have said that the staff went there for the cleaning.
