Kathmandu, 26 June: A motor bridge being built on Jhorung River in Bigu Rural Municipality-4 of Dolakha has collapsed. The bridge, which was to be handed over after construction in mid-June, was currently being prepared for remaining cement works. The Bigu Municipality had asked the concerned company to stop the construction two weeks ago on the suspicion that a part of the bridge had been inclined. Saroj Khadka, chief sub-engineer of the technical branch of the municipality, said that the construction work was stopped due to fear that a part of the bridge would collspse. "Our suspicion has turned into reality," he said. Usage of substandard contruction material is reported to be the cause of collapse. People's News Monitoring Service
