
Kathmandu, 21 June: The risk of cholera outbreak has increased in Kathmandu Valley. So far, cholera has been confirmed in two people and four people are suspected to be infected. All of them are undergoing treatment at Shukraraj Tropical and Communicable Diseases Hospital in Teku. According to the hospital, two people have been diagnosed with cholera and are undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Health experts fear that cholera had spread in the valley due to the infection. "Assessing the condition of the patients, there are indications that the cholera outbreak may increase in the valley," doctors have urge to be vigilant saying that it could turn into an pandemic.
