Nepali Congress born-again supreme Ganesh Man Sing has maintained that the no-confidence move against the government of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba currently before parliament has endangered the country’s constitution and democracy. Many others, too have taken up that or similar themes, some, like the Nepal Sadbhavana Party even going to the absurd extent of claiming that the UML sponsored no-confidence motion  will help terrorists (meaning, presumably, the Maoist presently engaged in their People’s War). Such contentions are not only naïve in the extreme; they smack of a level of political intolerance that is completely at odds with a democratic political culture. People’s Review, 21 March 1996
