Kathmandu, 5 May: The writ petition filed in the Supreme Court regarding the appointment of Inspector General of Nepal Police is being heard for the second day today has just concluded. The writ petition was heard in the bench of Justice Sushmalata Mathema. Senior advocates Harihar Dahal, Meghraj Pokhrel, Lalit Basnet, Purnaman Shakya and others argued on behalf of the writ petitioner Pokhrel. The apex court is expected to pronounce its verdict today, according to an official at the Supreme Court. On Sunday, the government  had appointed Dhiraj Pratap Singh as the new Inspector General of the Nepal Police. Challenging the government's decision, Additional Inspector General of Police Bishwaraj Pokharel had filed the writ petition. People's News Monitoring Service
