
Kathmandu, 21 April: The five-party coalition in the incumbent government has concluded the seat allocation in the metropolitan and sub metropolitan cities across the country for the May 13 local elections.
As per the agreement, the NC will get a share of mayoral seats in Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Biratnagar metropolitan cities and deputy mayoral seats in Birgunj, Bharatpur and Pokhara.
Likewise, it will get mayoral seats in Dharan, Itahari, Kalaiya, Tulasipur, Nepalgunj and Dhangadhi Sub Metropolises and deputy mayoral seats in Jitpur-Simara, Ghorahi and Hetauda.
Similarly, the CPN (Maoist Center) will have a seat of mayor and a deputy mayoral seat in Bharatpur and Lalitpur Metropolitan Cities respectively. It will get seats of mayor in Jitpur-Simara and Ghorahi Sub Metropolises and deputy mayoral seats in Dharan and Dhangadhi Sub Metropolitan Cities.
Another coalition partner—the CPN (Unified Socialist) will get a share of a mayoral seat in Pokhara Metropolitan City and a deputy mayoral seat in Kathmandu Metropolis. Similarly, it will get a seat of mayor in Hetauda Sub Metropolitan City and deputy mayoral seats in Itahari, Butwal and Tulasipur Sub Metropolises.
The Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal (JSPN) will get a seat of mayor in Birgunj Metropolitan City and a deputy mayoral seat in Biratnagar Metropolis. It will have a seat of mayor in Janakpur Sub Metropolis and deputy mayoral seats in Kalaiya and Nepalgunj Sub Metropolitan Cities.
