Two secretaries in one ministry, financial burden for government Kathmandu, 7 June: The government, which is doing homework to reduce unnecessary government expenditure to face challenges created by the Covid-19 pandemic, has planned to keep only one secretary in one ministry. In some ministries, there are two secretaries, which has created additional financial burden worth 700 million rupees per year. Likewise, the Kathmandu Metropolis Corporation has also planned to assign joint secretary level officer by replacing present mechanism of assigning secretary to reduce unnecessary expenditure, reports Rajdhani daily.
