Prime Minister Oli in New York

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is now in New York, the USA, to take part in the 73rd session of United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
He left for New York on Saturday leading a Nepali delegation.
In New York, the Prime Minister was received by Nepali Ambassador to the US Dr Arjun Kumar Karki and acting ambassador to Nepal’s Permanent Mission to the UN Nirmal Raj Kafle at the John F Kennedy International Airport.
PM Oli is accompanied by his spouse Radhika Shakya as well as Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Gyawali, Chief Advisor to Prime Minister Bishnu Rimal and Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) Shanker Das Bairagi. Spokesperson and Joint-Secretary at the MoFA Bharat Raj Kandel, Chief of Protocol Deepak Adhikari and high ranking officials of the government of Nepal and its agencies are also in the delegation.
The 73rd session of the UNGA has begun from Tuesday
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Prime Minister will address the United Nations General Assembly on Thursday (September 27) and will hold a bilateral meeting with the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on the same day.
He will also hold bilateral meetings with other leaders, including British Prime Minister Teresa May, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Swiss President Alain Berset and Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen in the sidelines.
The Prime Minister also addressed the high-level plenary meeting of the Nelson Mandela Peace Summit on September 24.
The Prime Minister and Shakya attended the reception hosted by President of the United States of America Donald Trump and Mrs. Trump in the evening of September 24.
He also joined the luncheon hosted by the UN Secretary General on September 25.
The Prime Minister will leave New York for San Jose, Costa Rica on September 29 on a bilateral official visit.
The Prime Minister will have a bilateral meeting with the President of Costa Rica, Carlos Alvarado Quesada, and will address the University for Peace in San Jose.
The Prime Minister and his delegation will depart for Kathmandu on October 3.
Separately, Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali was to participate, among others, in the Ministerial Meetings of the group of NAM, G77, LDC, LLDC and Group of Friends of Mediation.
The Foreign Minister will also host informal Ministerial Meeting of SAARC on Thursday.
A few hours before leaving for New York on Saturday, Prime Minister Oli instructed his party leaders and cadres to become hard-working as worker bees.
Addressing a function organised by the party on the fourth death anniversary of its late leader Sahana Pradhan, Prime Minister Oli said that the country would develop only after the party leaders and cadres worked hard as worker bees.
Earlier, he had instructed the party cadres to respond to the critics of the government as hornet, which drew public wrath.
