By Our Reporter
Road accidents have become common again in Nepal. Not a single day passes without a fatal road mishap.
In the latest fatal accident, 20 workers died when a tipper met with an accident at Syangboche of Damodarkunda Rural Municipality in Mustang.  The tipper was carrying workers of Beni-Jomsom-Korala road construction. Twelve others were injured in the accident.
The tipper with the registration number Ba 2 Ka 2219 fell off some 40 metres off the road. The incident site lies 50 kilometres from the district headquarters, Jomsom, according to police.
The tipper was carrying 32 workers and a few sacks of sand. The workers were returning to work after having their morning meal. But 20 of them, including driver were killed.
Police said the tipper was carrying passengers exceeding its capacity and it was driven in a high speed. The workers were mostly aged 20 to 30, and most of them from Rolpa, Dang and Kailali.
Meanwhile, the government on Monday decided to provide compensation to the family of each deceased in the accident. Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa announced the compensation amount while informing the parliament meeting on Monday.
