Chinese team starts feasibility study for Kerung-Kathmandu railway

Kathmandu, 23 May, A Chinese technical team arrived in Kathmandu has started feasibility study for construction of Kerung-Kathmandu railway line. The team has started survey for constructing railway station located to the West from Tokha in Kathmandu. The team had reached to Kharanitar in Nuwakot on Tuesday.

According to Prakash Bhakta Upadhaya, spokesman, Railway Department, the Chinese technical team will return only after completing sketch of the railway line from Kerung to Kathmandu and feasible stations on the way, reports Annapurna Post daily.

According to the Railway Department, study is on for constructing railway line from Kerung to Kathmandu and then expanding the same railway line to Aabu Khaireni from where, one line will go to Pokhara and another line will reach Lumbini.
