Nation observed 2562th anniversary of Lord Buddha on 31 April. Special programmes, including World Buddhist Conference were organised in Lumbini, birthplace of Lord Buddha. Addressing the foreign participants in Lumbini, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli said that there is no confusion regarding birthplace of Lord Buddha and there is no need to laude on Lord Buddha was born in Nepal as evidences speak themselves.
Oli urged the foreign participants at the seminar to correct the misleading information regarding birthplace of Lord Buddha.
Oli was furious from Indians who have attempted to mislead the world claiming that Lord Buddha was born in India.
Meanwhile, on the same day, addressing a Buddhist function in New Delhi, Indian prime minister Nareandra Modi had claimed that India is the land of Lord Buddha.
Such a claim by Modi has made furious to the Nepali community. In different countries, in museums and in textbooks, it is mentioned that Lord Buddha was born in India.
The government should become serious to correct such mistakes by sending protest letters to the concern countries.
