Kathmandu, 2 May: Almost all newspapers and online news portals of today have reported that police have concluded a round of investigations into smuggling and disappearance of 33.5 Kilogram gold and a subsequent murder of a person who had supposedly carried the gold.
Police are filing a case against 28 persons arrested in connection with the case at the Morang District Court today. According to Kantipur daily those facing the charge sheet today includes six police officials and personnel, 13 airport staff, three traders and six others involved in the murder.Likewise, other 34 persons who are absconding will also be sued today.
Naya Patrika daily stats that police, however, are yet to find any cue about whereabouts of Chudamani Upreti alis Gore, who is supposed to the leader of gold smuggling racket.
According to Gorkhapatra, police have also launched an investigation against Senior Superintendant of Police (SSP) Dibesh Lohani in connection with the case. Likewise,The Himalayan Times has published a news that tells the Police Headquarters has issued a circular to all units, directing them to arrest SSP Shyam Khatri.
