Procedural complexities hinder reconstruction

Kathmandu, 25 April: The National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) has acknowledged that post earthquake reconstruction task could not take a pace due to policy-level and procedural complexities.
The reconstruction task of private and government structures, damaged by the April 25, 2015 Gorkha earthquake, failed to take expected pace, the NRA said that it would make some policy-level reform and to adopt easy and smooth process for the reconstruction task.

All news media have covered this news attributing to a news conference organised by the NRA on Tuesday.The NRA officials informed that the NRA is going to adopt a policy to mobilize local levels to accelerate construction of private housings.
Saying 767,705 houses are in the list of beneficiaries and of them, only 119,233 houses have been constructed so far, the NRA said a plan has been brought to accelerate all types of reconstruction tasks by the end of the current fiscal year.
It is said that the reconstruction task could not make the expected progress due to complexities in purchasing of construction materials, and lack of construction materials and information mechanism.
