Kathmandu, 18 April: At a time when transportation entrepreneurs have announced nationwide agitation programme against the government decision to end syndicate system in transportation sector, drivers, helpers and transportation labours have said that they are not going to take part in the agitation launched by vehicle owners.
In the past, in all agitations launched by the transportation owners, the transportation labours had participated, reports Onlinekhabar news portal.
Bhimjwala Rai, chairman, Nepal Independent Transportation Labours’ Association, said, “We are in wait and see position.”
“Transportation labours are not going to take part in the present agitation launched by the vehicle owners,” he said.
The government has decided to scrap existing transportation operation committees urging them to register under the business company. Against such a decision of the government, the transportation entrepreneurs have decided to launch agitation.
Rai also said that the transportation operators, who are earning money from this business, should pay tax to the government.
