By Our Reporter NC central member and former health minister GaganThapa was injured when a bomb was exploded targeting him at Chapali in Budanilkantha municipality on Monday. With Thapa, 10 NC cadres were injured in the blast. Thapa was received injuries in his ear, back and hand. After the blast Thapa was rushed to TU Teaching Hospital where a large number of his fans had reached to see him. According hospital sources, two of the injured were in critical condition. The bomb went off when Thapa, who is contesting election from Kathmandu 4, was leading a door-to-door campaign in Chapali. The bomb exploded on the road just after Thapa crossed the point. It seemed the bomb was exploded with an intention of killing Thapa, one of the popular NC leaders. CPN-led by NetraBikram Chand was suspected for the blast. However, there were also reports that the bomb was planted by the medical mafia, as Thapa had played a key role to meet the demands raised by DrGovinda KC. The Nepali Congress had condemned the attack on Thapawhile leaders of different parties also deplored the explosion. Leader Thapa, however, addressed a mass rallies with bandages in his head later in the evening urging voters to cast votes and give fitting answers to the forces which had resorted to violence. Police arrested as much as 40 persons in connection to the blast by Monday evening.
