Incidents of cow slaughtering on rise

By Our Reporter
With the massive conversion drive launched in the support of the Kathmandu-based western mission, incidents of cow slaughtering have increased across the country. Killing cow hurts the religious sentiment of the Nepalese people and the Christians, mostly the Maoists, have intensified the anti-cultures activities.
Although police nab the individuals involved in the crimes, practice of killing cows and calves for meat is on the rise.
The police recently filed a case at the district court against a person arrested in accusation of slaughtering a cow from Dhulikhel of Kavrepalanchowk district.
Bishal Neupane, 35, of Nawalpur VDC – 1 of Sindhupalchowk district was arrested in possession of two legs of a cow, said Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Nabin Raj Rai, of District Police Office, Dhulikhel.
The police have also arrested two other persons who tried to manhandle the cops on duty. They will be tried under the Public Offence and Punishment Act
